About us

Australia’s first statewide pre-commitment scheme, YourPlay is a card-based tool that players can use to track the money and time they spend using gaming machines (commonly called poker machines or ‘pokies’) at licensed sports, social and service clubs across Victoria, and in the Melbourne casino. The scheme is voluntary for players to use, and to ‘pre-commit’ to setting limits. YourPlay users can see live action summaries tracking the money and time they spend on a display screen at the gaming machine. Those who’ve set limits get reminders before and when they reach a limit. Players can generate statements about their play over a day, a week, a month or a year – online or by logging in to their account at kiosks in venues – and get an annual statement.

Who provides YourPlay?

The YourPlay scheme and service is provided under licence to the State of Victoria by the gaming machine monitor, Intralot Gaming Services Pty Ltd (Intralot). Venue operators provide and maintain the equipment players use to access YourPlay. Intralot provides online training to venue operators and staff on how the system works so they can meet Code of Conduct requirements to help players register and use it. The Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation (VCGLR) regulates how the scheme is applied, including setting equipment standards.

Who is responsible for YourPlay?

Victorian legislation provided for pre-commitment for some years before the Gambling Regulation Amendment (Pre-commitment) Act 2014 and the Gambling Regulation (Pre-commitment and Loyalty Scheme) Regulations 2014 were introduced. The Department of Justice and Community Safety oversaw the development of the scheme on behalf of the State, with support from the Community Support Fund. The department also authorises the YourPlay website.
